The 55+ Winter Games is hosted by The City of Charlottetown from February 18–23 at various venues throughout the city.
The Games were created for individuals over the age of 55. This year, the games will include events such as: snowshoeing, stick curling, bowling, darts, spin cycling, Scrabble and many more.
A new event, Euchre, has been added to the Games this year. Euchre is a card game for two to four players, usually played with the thirty-two highest cards, with the aim being to win at least three of the five tricks played.
The sport of hockey has added a new age division to help grow the number of participants. The new division is 50+ Men’s and Women’s, along with the existing 60+ and 70+ for the Men’s division.
The celebration luncheon will be held February 21 at 12 noon at Murphy’s Community Centre, 200 Richmond Street, Charlottetown. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased through the registration form.
All seniors are encouraged to come participate in this fun, friendly competition. Info: pei55plusgamessociety.ca
