Wintertide Holiday Festival Tree Lighting

Friday, November 23, 2018, 06:00pm

This repeat is an exception to the normal repeat pattern

The City of Charlottetown’s Wintertide Holiday Festival kicks off next week with the annual Wintertide Holiday Festival Tree Lighting on Friday, November 23.

The event begins with a candlelight walk from Peake’s Wharf to the Confederation Centre of the Arts Upper Plaza. For those who wish to participate in the candlelight walk, meet at Peake’s Wharf to pick up your candle between 6 pm and 6:15 pm. The festivities begin at the Confederation Centre Upper Plaza (Grafton Street side) at 6:15 pm. There will be entertainment and refreshments, along with special guest — Father Christmas, the Confederation Centre Youth Chorus and Julia Dunn, as well as a stunning pyrotechnic finale.

The tree lighting is part of the annual Wintertide Holiday Festival and is presented by the City of Charlottetown, in partnership with the Legislative Assembly of PEI, Confederation Centre of the Arts, Children’s Wish Foundation, The Guardian, Ocean 100 and Hot 105.5. Wintertide is a collection of seasonal celebrations, events and recreational activities taking place from November 2018 until January 2019. The events are coordinated by the City of Charlottetown, community organizations and residents. The festival also adds spirit and sparkle to Charlottetown's nighttime sky.

This is a Signature Event of Victorian Christmas Weekend in Charlottetown.
