Ian Janes’ new CD Yes Man was nominated for Pop Recording of the Year at the 2018 ECMAs and the first single was featured on the TV series Nashville. Maclean’s named Ian one of 100 Canadians to watch. He has performed on East Coast Music Awards show, CBC Radio’s Canada Live and Definitely Not The Opera. He has been nominated for 5 ECMA awards to date and won a Record of the Year Music Nova Scotia Award. His songs have been featured in Thom Fitzgerald’s acclaimed film The Event, on the CBC-TV drama North/South, the Anchor Bay Entertainment picture Hiding and the hit U.S Series Nashville.
Joining Ian will be the house band of Ian Toms, Deryl Gallant, Glen Strickey, and Matt Bridges. They won Best Jazz Recording at the Music PEI awards 2012, Achievement in Classical or Jazz at the 2015 Music PEI Awards, hosted the Jazz and Blues stage at the 2012 ECMAs, and performed in the Galaxie Rising Star competition at the Halifax Jazz Festival. Drummer Alan Dowling, bassist Deryl Gallant, and guitarist Ian Toms have been former Doug Riley artists at the PEI Jazz and Blues Festival, with Deryl winning Musician of the Year at the 2015 Music PEI Awards.
Those under 19 can attend until 10 pm with a parent. Show takes place at The Pourhouse, 189 Great George Street, Charlottetown, November 10 at 7 pm. Admission goes to a scholarship for students entering a jazz program. Reservations are recommended by calling 902-892-5200.
