Activities planned to promote family violence prevention and healthy relationships
This year, Prince Edward Island’s Family Violence Prevention Week is February 11 to 17. Every Islander can play a part in preventing and responding to family violence, whether as a neighbour, friend, family member, or co-worker.
Wear purple on Wednesday, February 14, to show your support.
The 9th Annual Walk in Silence for Victims of Family Violence will take place on Wednesday, February 14 beginning at 12 noon in front of the Coles Building (165 Richmond Street) in Charlottetown and ending with a reception and remarks at City Hall (199 Queen Street). Walk in Silence is a symbolic gesture to give voice to family violence victims who remain silent out of shame or fear. Walk with other Islanders and show your commitment to preventing family violence.
Participate in activities Island-wide to promote family violence prevention and healthy relationships. Activities take place every day and include Walks in Silence, awareness presentations, family activities and more.
