Ice boat song and video

Robert Palmer has written an original song and produced a video that depicts the progression of transportation across Northumberland Strait from the use of ice boats to the modern day Confederation Bridge. The video that illuminates this story was created from pictures given to Rober by ferry crew members who worked for CN Marine and Marine Atlantic. The 4th Annual Charlottetown Film Festival has announced it will open with Island director Mile Clarke’s NFB documentary The Song and the Sorrow which takes an intimate look at the path of dealing with mental illness in the lives of musical icon Gene MacLellan and his daughter Catherine.

Projections on the Plaza

The public is invited to enjoy two outdoor film screenings taking place in downtown Charlottetown all summer long. Presented by Discover Charlottetown and Confederation Centre of the Arts, Signatures: A Canadian Spectacle Under the Stars and Projections on the Plaza will run nightly, Monday to Saturday, until the end of September and are free to the public.

Rachel Beck video

Rachel Beck will kick off a Canadian tour with a new music video for her single, “Hearts On Fire” premiering on Exclaim.ca. Created in collaboration with ECMA award-winning director, Jenna MacMillan, filmed in PEI, the video features a cast of her friends and loved ones. “Hearts On Fire” comes from Rachel’s first self-titled solo venture. The Lost Gardens deal

Throwback Entertainment has reached a publishing deal with Rabbit Hole Studios to publish The Lost Gardens. The Lost Gardens is Rabbit Hole’s first title which saw its first chapter released in Early-Access on Steam in 2017. Throwback Entertainment will bring The Lost Gardens out of early access, realizing the vision of games creator, Scott Humes. Canadian-based Throwback Entertainment Inc.

Starting on May 5, the Island-made comedy movie Kooperman will be available to view free online. To celebrate the launch, there will be a free screening of the film at Lightning Bolt Comics, 99 Grafton Street, Charlottetown, that evening at 8 pm. Admission to this screening is open to 14A viewers until capacity is reached.
