Lucie Bellemare works now part of Summerside landscape
The City of Summerside invites the public to view three sculptural works by artist Lucie Bellemare that have been installed in the City of Summerside.
Lori Ellis, Manager of Heritage and Cultural Properties for the City of Summerside, says, “while the intricacy and whimsy of Lucie’s work catches the attention of on lookers, I believe it is her thoughtful placement of elements and choice in found objects that really calls for a response from viewers.”
“Live and Let Live” encourages tolerance and kindness; allowing each other to live as each sees fit, says the artist. It is on view at International Fox Museum/Gallery 33/Armories Building Lawn, 33 Summer Street.
“Go for It” asks the viewer to plunge into the gaps between the words, the light, and the landscapes that your eyes paint in front of you, says Bellemare. It is located at the International Fox Museum/Gallery 33/Armories Building Lawn, 33 Summer Street.
“Immediate Attitude of Gratitude” is about a thousand things to be thankful for and asks the viewer to think of one and smile, according to the artist. It is located at Credit Union Place Lobby, 511 Notre Dame Street.
