In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut album In Loving Memory Of, Big Wreck will hit the road, performing at PEI Brewing Company in Charlottetown on January 24.
Big Wreck’s newest album, Grace Street (ole label group / Anthem), debuted at #1 on Soundscan. Grace Street was co-produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and features tracks with live off the floor performances by founding front man Ian Thornley on guitar and keyboards.
Big Wreck formed while all the members were attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. The band’s debut album included the singles “The Oaf,” “That Song,” and “Blown Wide Open” which were all Top 10 hits in Canada and the US. The second album Albatross turned in a Top 5 first-week showing on the Canadian Albums Chart, led by a #1 hit single. The album later earned a 2013 JUNO nomination for Rock Album of the Year and three Top 10 Canadian Rock Radio singles.
The follow up release, Ghosts, went on to hit the same debut on the album charts, and led to numerous sold out shows across Canada, the US, and Germany, alongside numerous awards and nominations for the album.
