The program is a spooky, thoughtful, and occasionally silly concert exploring our fear of the things that go bump in the night. Highlights include Finnish composer Jaako Mantyjarvi’s hair-raising setting of “Double Double, Toil and Trouble”; the beautiful madrigal “Draw On Sweet Night” by Renaissance composer John Wilbye; and Jester Hairston’s “That Ol’ House Is Haunted,” in which a brave church deacon confronts four giant ghost cats; as well as music by J.S. Bach, Edward Elgar, Dave Matthews Band, and more.

Luminos Ensemble debuted in June of this year. The ensemble members are trained, experienced singers from PEI’s professional vocal scene. They will present two more concerts this season, culminating in a performance of Johannes Brahms’ Ein deutches Requiem in June 2018.
