Dinner theatre continues its popularity on PEI
Tuesdays (July 18–August 29)
Acadian Musical Village
The Belle of the Ball is the English production for this year’s V’nez veiller dinner-theatre playing at the Acadian Musical Village in Abram-Village.
Playwright Wayne Robichaud conceived this comedy last year for the French version of the dinner-theatre. This year, he has translated it. Comedienne Julie Arsenault takes on theatrical and musical directing duties, in addition to an acting role. The evening consists of a play with songs and music and four-course meal.
Gerald Arsenault plays Martin, a man in his forties who decides to return to college for a mid-life career change. The only boarding room he can find close to the college is in the girls’ dorm—with his sister Colette (Julie Arsenault).
Martin therefore transforms himself into “Martina” to fit in. Comedic situations arise when he falls in love with one of his dorm-mates. Jonathan Arsenault, Louise Arsenault, Kaylee Arsenault and Christina Gallant-MacLean offer obstacles and solutions to his challenges.
Show at 6:30 pm. Tickets must be reserved in advance by calling 902-854-3300.
