The Traditional Files, a fiddle and acoustic guitar albumwas recorded in Wellington PEI and her home studio, produced arranged and engineered by Keelin Wedge, and mastered by Brent Chaisson at Studio Dimanche in Miscouche.
This album covers traditional favourites such as Sailor’s Hornpipe, Gaspé Reel, Heather on the Hill, Princess Reel, and Tennessee Waltz. The album was recorded with two different fiddles, for a unique sound on each track.
The Traditional Files will be launched on Thursday, July 6 at 8 pm at Kaylee Hall, Pooles Corner during opening night of the Close to the Ground summer concert series. It’s part of a double CD launch with Fiddlers’ Sons.
Keelin Wedge, from St. Louis, is a multi-instrumentalist. She is currently working on many new projects, and contributes to groups around PEI including Renegade, Harmony, and Fiddlers’ Sons. The Traditional Files is her second album. Fingers on Fire sold out and is now available to download on iTunes. Keelin won the 2002 PEI Music Award for Classical Artist of the Year. She is comfortable playing traditional, country and rock. And she is a also a vocalist who sings in many styles.
