Confederation Portrait Gallery

Narrative panels tell the story of the personalities and politics in play during the Confederation deliberations of 1864–1868. Recreations include the Victorian portrait studio of Canada’s Confederation painter Robert Harris and a full-scale working drawing of his famous “Fathers of Confederation.” Expo 67 memorabilia gives a glimpse of Canada 100 years young, together with 1970s local cartoons documenting “Trudeaumania.” A few paintings by Jane Reagh Bruce Robertson and Brian Burke will be on exhibit for sale via a liaison with Studio 21 Fine Art, Halifax, NS.
