Charlottetown

The Queen’s County Music Festival will take place in Charlottetown between April 24 and May 6. Classes will be held at Park Royal United Church, the Dr. Steel Recital Hall and are open to the public. This year the Festival welcomes adjudicators Dr. Rebecca Hunter for strings adjudication, Aury Murray for piano adjudication, Monica Zerbe for voice adjudication, Dr. Gregory Burton for instrumental adjudication and composition classes. Finalists from the Queen’s County Music Festival will have the opportunity to compete at the Provincial Music Festival with hopes to advance to the Nationals.

Printed programs are available in advance at Long and McQuade. Weeklong passes for the Festival, concerts and individual session passes will be available at the door. Visit www.peikiwanismusicfestival.ca to view this year’s list of performers and come out and support young Island musicians.

Awards Concerts will be held May 9 at Park Royal United Church. The pre-junior, junior and intermediate concert will take place at 6 pm and senior and advanced concerts take place at 8 pm.
