Grace x 3: A Perfect Heart - Island Gospel Ladies Trio
Sylvia Jenkins, Shirley Jay and Wilma Hansome have released a CD of Christian music entitled Grace x 3: A Perfect Heart. Three ladies who have sung in gospel halls, churches, community centres and funeral homes either as soloists, duets or as a trio came together to praise God in their newly released album.

The Ross Family released their sophomore CD, Prince Edward Island, I'm Coming Home in July. This Island roots music group consists of four young siblings: Danielle (vocals, fiddle, guitar); Stephanie (vocals, guitar); Alex (drums); and Johnny Ross (piano).

The World is an Eyeland - Tyler Carmody
Rapper Tyler Carmody will hold a release party for his CD, The World is an Eyeland, with DJ Ghost on July 10 at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown opening for Halifax rapper Ghettosocks.
The World is an Eyeland is an 18 track poetic-concept album. Carmody says there is an “energetic, raw spittin’, yet calm spoken word feel to his flow laced with metaphors, odd concepts and character perspectives/scenarios.”

Come In From The Cold - Ashley Condon
Raised between two potato fields on PEI, Ashley Condon is the grandchild of Bill Leblanc, a Canadian country pioneer who once spent the night in jail with Hank Snow. She grew up on music that ranged from old-time country music to folk, blues and southern rock.

Waif & the Spade
Waif & the Spade - Waif & the Spade
Charlottetown resident Andrew Hercules and his band Waif & the Spade have released a self-titled CD.
Hercules has cultivated his talents for nearly a decade with the avant-garde hard rock act The End, where he demonstrated his fanciful fretwork on the guitar, and also lyrically in the 2004 conceptual project, Within Dividia, and most recently on Elementary (2007).

Riddle - Cynthia MacLeod
Riddle marks a leap forward for Cynthia MacLeod. She hopes it shows her growth from “energetic girl” to “dynamic, strong young woman.” With its unique arrangements, musicianship, and broad and varied influences, Riddle shows a sophistication and artistry earned by Cynthia over her decade as a performer.

Max Keenlyside
KeenlyStride - Max Keenlyside
Max Keenlyside released his second CD, KeenlyStride, at The Guild in Charlottetown in July.
Keenlyside is a 19-year-old pianist and composer who lives in Charlottetown whose influences have been all forms of ragtime, early jazz and music from the 1870 to 1930 period. He is known for his stride and Jelly Roll Morton chops, as well as a firm grounding in the ragtime piano tradition. Keenlyside is currently pursuing a degree at UPEI. His debut album was entitled Charlottetown Rambler.

super visas
READ (I found out), the debut album by super visas, combines elements of indie, lo-fi, noise, drone and pop to produce atmospheric songs. A side project of James Hicken (wallscenery demos), READ (I found out) is a limited edition album which will be independently released and manufactured.

Atlantic Standards—Kitchen Party
Atlantic Standards: Kitchen Party has gathered the quintessential party tracks from Nova Scotia/Cape Breton and Newfoundland, as well as a dash of traditional Acadian dance reels from Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. The recently released CD is in stores now.

Fiddlers’ Sons
This Is My Island - Fiddlers' Sons
The fifth studio album from Music PEI award winners, Fiddlers’ Sons, is a double CD titled This Is My Island. It was recorded by Serge Bernard at Diamond Productions in Stratford. There are 21 tracks on this 2 CD package which reflect on the PEI landscape and the people who call it home. The first disk called Rural Routes features songs with a rural theme. The second CD called City Beats contains songs that are more urban in nature and it includes a bonus track called “The Garbageman’s Xmas Blues.” All songs are wrapped in the folk sounds that Fiddlers’ Sons have been known for over their 13 years playing together.

SHE EP
SHE EP - Molly Rankin
Brought up in a family of musicians, Molly Rankin was inspired by the traditional Celtic music around her to tackle music beast herself. Molly convinced Alec O’Hanley (THT/Danks) to helping arrange and produce her first EP. O’Hanley donated his time and patience to embark on the journey to Halifax with Molley.
